Aussie Made Heavy Duty Broadfork:
This broadfork is a specialised tool for re-working existing garden beds allowing deep cultivation of the soil without excessive turning or damage to the soil profile. It features a heavy duty tubular frame which supports seven large tines, each 120 mm apart and 350 mm deep.
The tynes are laser cut from 6mm Bissalloy (hardened and tempered plate) 350mm deep and tapers from 40mm down to a fine sharpened point. This 7 tyne fork has a working distance (between outside tynes) of 680mm and is ideal for 30 inch or 750mm wide beds. The handles are heavy duty steel tube with extra re-enforcement. They are offset by 25 degrees from the blade angle to improve leverage when pulling back.
How to Use:
Stand on the cross bar to drive the tynes deep into the soil. Then stepping back off the cross bar, you lean back pulling on both handles to draw the tynes through the soil profile. These operations use your body weight to power the movement of the tool.
