We assisted First Avenue Cafe in Kensington to design and implement a sunshade with a small garden seating area.
Our wonderful Matt utilised his epic skills to design and build an IBC wicking bed and trellis. He salvaged Jarrah wood from a house demolition nearby and used it for the trellis and cladding around the IBC.
Jo put together a planting plan with First Avenue Cafe owner, Marilyn, to maximise the productivity and beauty of this little patch to provide some fruit along with edible flowers and herbs for the cafe's kitchen.
The cornerstone of the design is a passionfruit to provide much needed shade for the serving window and customers awaiting their caffeine fix.Other highlights include flat leaf parsley, marjoram, lemon balm and marigolds. The hope is that there will be abundant produce to share with the wider community.

Oh, wow. What a wonderful story. I love our little town and community. So many amazing people that help each other out, a growing sense of ‘we are in this together’ no matter who we are. I’m so looking forward to being able to be more a part of this, having being isolated from the World in my backyard for many years.
