Carbon Steel Secateurs - KUDO Type B 180mm

KUDO Type B Secateurs 180mm:

KUDO Type F 180mm secateurs are made by KUDO Shears, a highly experienced blacksmith workshop in Yamagata, Japan. These secateurs have a European shape, with the head slightly down and straight from the neck line. These secateurs can cut branches up to 18mm in diameter. The set comes with a spare spring and is presented in a gift box. The small size makes them ideal for female gardeners with smaller hands.

The Kudo family has been running KUDO Shears for 80 years, inheriting regional blacksmithing techniques that have been around for 660 years in Yamagata Prefecture. Kudo-san Snr has crafted highly durable secateurs for 55 years, garnering multiple awards in the process. His secateurs are loved by garden professionals, orchard workers, and flower growers. Today his son is working with him to carry on the workshop into the future.

KUDO Type B Japanese Secateurs Care Instructions:

If your secateurs are left wet, or exposed to water then rust may develop. We advise that you wipe down your secateurs and spray with a lubricant such as WD40 or INOX at the end of each day’s use and store in a pouch.

About Shogun Tools:

Shogun Tools was founded in 2017 in Brisbane by Maki from Tokyo with support from her husband, Alex, a horticulturist and garden maintenance business owner. Maki's family had a passion for gardening, and she and Alex searched for high quality tools. Maki sourced info from professionals and Alex tested them for Australian use. Japanese blacksmiths (kaji) have long been revered for their precision blades and metalwork, but their industry has declined due to mass imports and a disposable culture. Shogun Tools support small businesses and artisans who create quality, long-lasting tools, preserving skills and traditions within Japan and beyond.
