Hori Hori Carbon Steel:
The Hori-hori tool is an essential gardening and foraging tool, named after the Japanese onomatopoeic word for 'dig'. In Japan, it is mainly used for wild harvesting of mountain vegetables. Three different functions are available - the pointed end for digging, one serrated side for dividing bulbs/rhizomes, and the other semi-sharp side for cutting through ropes, roots, or stems. The contoured hardwood handle provides a secure grip and superior control, making it the tool of choice for gardening enthusiasts, while the blade is perfectly balanced and crafted from high-grade carbon steel.
It comes with a sheath which is made of synthetic leather for carrying around and storage.

About Shogun Tools:
Shogun Tools was founded in 2017 in Brisbane by Maki from Tokyo with support from her husband, Alex, a horticulturist and garden maintenance business owner. Maki's family had a passion for gardening, and she and Alex searched for high quality tools. Maki sourced info from professionals and Alex tested them for Australian use. Japanese blacksmiths (kaji) have long been revered for their precision blades and metalwork, but their industry has declined due to mass imports and a disposable culture. Shogun Tools support small businesses and artisans who create quality, long-lasting tools, preserving skills and traditions within Japan and beyond.
