The Victoria Park Community Garden Grow and Cook Book contains favourite recipes from its members that are based on the veggies harvested from the garden.
It also contains advice on how to grow the vegetables in the recipes and what to grow across the seasons.
The community garden is managed organically (chemical-free) and provides opportunities for community development and social networking for people of all ages, cultural backgrounds and abilities. They host events for the general public to learn about sustainable gardening, the origins of food, edible weed foraging and how to be environmentally friendly.
The garden contains a mix of individual growing plots, community-shared plots, fruit trees, composting areas, a native garden, water tank and shared gathering spaces.
All proceeds from the sale of The Grow and Cook Book go to the Victoria Park Community Garden Association.
