Hemp Exfoliating Mitt

Gently exfoliate your skin with this hand crocheted 100% Hemp Hand Mitt.

With gentle, regular use it removes the barrier of dead skin cells clogging the skin's pores and stimulates your skin’s blood circulation. The friction that it creates as you use it will make the blood vessels properly circulate the blood. Improved blood circulation helps rid the body of toxins, chemicals and other harmful substances. Made from natural fibres, it does not contain any artificial substances that can irritate the skin. Comes with a handy hanging loop.

Hemp is an ideal fibre for bathroom products as it is naturally resistant to mould, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and due to its porous nature, holds more water. It is highly sustainable and has always been valued for its strength and durability. Not only is hemp strong, but it also holds its shape, stretching less than any other natural fibre. Hemp doesn't wear out, it wears in and the more hemp is used, the softer it gets.

The Hemp Exfoliating Mitt is handmade using delicate crochet techniques by fair trade craftspersons living in rural communities in Bangladesh.

Environmental Impact:

Hemp is an extremely fast growing crop with little to no use of pesticides, fertilisers or herbicides. It can produce 250% more fibre than cotton using the same amount of land. Cotton is a very water and pesticide intensive plant to grow. It has a much higher environmental cost than hemp which requires much less water, grows very quickly, and uses minimal nutrients from the soil. The roots of the hemp plant also aerate the soil, leaving it rich for future crops. Amazingly it also returns 60-70% of the nutrients it takes from the soil.
