Sassy Frass Bio Fertiliser 1L, from The Green Life Soil Co.

Certified Organic Sassy Frass Bio Fertiliser:

Sassy Frass Bio Fertiliser 1L is made from insect manure derived from Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL), which has been carefully cultivated for its ability to effectively reduce organic waste. With high concentrations of essential nutrients, this natural bio fertiliser nourishes soil and supports the growth of beneficial soil fungi for increased soil health.

Frass, unlike other manures, contains a compound known as chitin (pronounced "Kite-in"). This valuable compound stimulates receptors in plants, prompting them to thicken their cell walls and defend against attacks.

According to growth trials, Sassy Frass Bio Fertiliser 1L has been proven to improve plant health and increase resistance to pests and disease, resulting in stronger growth and more robust plants. Additionally, it can enhance drought resistance in plants.

About Black Soldier Fly:

The Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae are very effective at consuming large amounts of organic waste quickly and offer various useful resources. These in-demand larvae are rich in protein and often used in aquaculture and animal feed. In warmer months, they can often be found in home compost piles, as they are attracted to decomposing material. Adult soldier flies do not have mouthparts and only live for a short time to reproduce; they do not pose any harm or annoyance to humans. The frass, which consists of their poo and shed skins, is a valuable resource in the fields of agriculture and horticulture.

Application Rate for Sassy Frass:

Distribute approximately 100gms (a small handful) around established plants. For recently planted garden beds, mix 100-200gms/m2 into the top 150mm of soil. Remember to water and mulch thoroughly to maintain soil health. If incorporating into potting mixes, use at a rate of approximately 2% of the total volume.
