Environmental Toothbrush - Child (Soft Bristles)

Choosing a bamboo toothbrush is a small but significant step towards creating a healthier planet, by reducing levels of plastic in landfill.

Made from bamboo, an abundant and environmentally sustainable timber, the handle of this toothbrush is completely biodegradable. A carbonisation process gives the handle durability, water resistance and a smooth finish, and prevents microbial growth during normal use.

The bristles are made from nylon - the only biodegradable toothbrush bristles currently available are made from animal hair, which is problematic for many people. While a completely biodegradable toothbrush would be ideal, surely it's better to be 99% compostable than 100% plastic?

Most dentists recommend a soft toothbrush and this one is gentle on teeth and gums. The MiEco Environmental Toothbrush is also available in Adult (Medium Bristles) or Adult (Soft Bristles).

Materials:

  • Handle: heat-treated, water resistant bamboo, sustainably grown by independent farmers
  • Bristles: BPA-free Nylon 6 polymer
  • Packaging: compostable cardboard

Care:

  • store in an open-air toothbrush holder
  • do not store in enclosed containers that collect water

Disposal

  • Remove bristles and place in landfill bin
  • Add handle to compost or bury in soil

Kids love these!

My kids love their new toothbrushes. Great quality and reasonably priced. They used a pencil to write their names on them as they are not brightly coloured like their old plastic ones.
