Natural Cleaning Spray Recipe
This is a natural castile soap spray that is non-toxic, safe for humans and the environment and effective against dirt and grease. It is a great all-purpose cleaner suitable for any hard surface in the house or outdoors. The soap can be rinsed away without fear of it harming your garden, wastewater or the natural environment.
The castile soap acts as a surfactant, removing grease and oil, while the essential oils add antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties while also adding a beautiful and refreshing natural scent.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1 tablespoon liquid castile soap
- 10-15 drops pure essential oils
- Spray bottle
Note: If you have solid castile soap, you can grate and dissolve it in water to use in place of the liquid castile soap.
Choosing Essential Oils
Essential oils provide a fresh scent while also adding antimicrobial properties to the spray. Great choices for adding especially strong antibacterial properties are: tea tree, eucalyptus, clove or oregano.
Popular combinations include:
- Lemon
- Lavender and eucalyptus
- Lavender and orange
- Lavender and peppermint
- Lavender and tea tree
- Lavender and rosemary
Method and Use:
- Pour all ingredients into an amber spray bottle using a funnel and shake to combine
- Spray on surfaces and wipe with a damp cleaning cloth
- Store in a cool place out of direct sunlight
